What Will Lady Gaga’s Wedding Dress Look Like

The lovely 29-year-old Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, also simply known as Lady Gaga, an American singer, songwriter and actress is apparently getting ready to tie the knot. Taylor Kinny is the lucky man who will be spending the rest of his life in her absolutely mind-boggling company, as we actually do imagine her walking around with meat dresses and going dominatrix in bed. The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day and that hit us like a ton of bricks since, well, who would have ever imagined the exotic, positively unscrupulous Gaga ever really settling down. We are sure, however, that there will be no settling down in reality, merely making a long-time relationship officially legal in the eyes of the state.

What Will Lady Gaga's Wedding Dress Look Like

Lady Gaga has been around for quite a while now, but really came into prominence in 2008, with her debut album called The Fame, in which she had song like Just Dance and Poker Face. She had more hit singles in 2009, and then her Born This Way song release in the eponymous album in 2011 became a point in her career that would hurl her to major stardom. It topped the charts in 20 countries and sold over a million copies during its first week. She’s still going strong, but her grip seems to have slightly weakened on the loving population that follows her everywhere, mouth agape. We wonder if that has anything to do with her upcoming nuptials.

Tailor Kinny, on the other hand, is an actor in his own right, as well as a model. The 33-year-old hunk of a star actually looks really good with the queen of the most absurd acts on stage. We remember him as Mason Lockwood from The Vampire Diaries more the most part and know his career was at its peak last between 2011 and 2012, particularly in the latter year. The two met in Nebraska during a music video shooting and have been inseparable ever since that fateful day in July 2011.

Lady Gaga is certainly said to be the Bride of the Decade and that is why so many designers are sending over sketches of potential gowns to create for the lovely but eccentric music artist. “It will be totally for Taylor,” Gaga told WWD exclusively of her wedding dress plans. “It’s all about my man. I haven’t really thought about anything specific yet but whatever it is, it will be totally for him.” Now, that is an awesome way to begin a life linked together with anyone! Normally, the wedding day is about the bride and the night about the groom. We wonder if the roles are reversed here. No matter how it will go down, we have to really respect Gaga’s focus on making her man the happiest groom around. We know one thing for sure though, this will be a showstopper of an event and perhaps be viewed by as many people as a royal wedding gets. Between the whimsical, the imaginative, the simpler looks and the positively spectacular designs, we really have to wonder which of these wedding dresses Lady Gaga will pick at the end.

Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel has opted for a design that is regal in stance, but one with the quirky edge that Gaga is known for. Since her partner did fall in love with her for who she is, we’d have to think that yes, he might like this very much.

Mara Hoffman, on the other hand, has decided that roses, roses everywhere would be her theme, including a hummingbird enjoying the sweet nectar off her colorful rose veil. Alberta Ferretti imagines Gaga as a goddess of the trees, her gown stuck to her body and very revealing, her train long and beautiful, her veil of branch quality.

Simpler looks are presented by Nili Lotan and Viktor & Rolf, the pretty Alexander Wang for Balenciaga and the fluttering ruffles with Misha Nonoo, as well as the more traditional by Donna Karan Atelier or Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein Collection, while intergalactic bridal designs with bared breast and all are drawn up by Michael Wilkinson and Tim Martin. The very revealing looks are also created by Hood by Air, though we are not quite sure how much a groom would enjoy the sight of his bride’s bare bottom exposed to the world on their walk down the aisle. Then again, Monique Lhuillier does have a rather interesting take on the revealing but fashionable, decent but sensual trend happening now, something that Diane von Fustenberg also focused on with her plunging neckline and shimmering see-through materials. This idea has also inspired Dennis Basso. Speaking of intergalactic though, Tamae Hirokawa for Somarta gave one of the wackiest bridal gown designs we have ever seen.

The strangest sketches have to have had come from the Sibling label, and Betsy Johnson, while Carol Lim and Humberto Leon for Opening Ceremony really had us going with the sexy Statue of Liberty style designs. We are not quite sure where the dress ends and where the flowers begin with Antonio Marras’ sketch, while we certainly cannot imagine the simplicity of Rebecca Minkoff’s beauty appearing on Lady Gaga. If you want strange though, check out the geometrically inclined Charles Youssef piece, or the Queen of Hearts design from William Ivey Long. Actually, as funky as it may seem, we can almost imagine this on our Eccentric Lady.

Other pieces we cannot imagine her choosing though include that from Bibhu Mohapatra, from Sonia Rykiel or that lovely swan printed H&M look. Have we mentioned yet that Zang Toi’s sketches are beyond bewildering? As adorable as the Alber Elbaz look is, that is another we simply cannot imagine on Gaga herself. The lady has made a name for herself and she appears as anything but adorable.

If we had to choose one that really shows of the Lady Gaga Character and would also be loved by her husband-to-be, we would have to say it is the Reem Acra dress. It has a haughty Cruella DeVille look to it, while still maintaining elegance and poise. It beats all the others in terms of matching the public persona who will be wed. Then again, she might always opt for something more demure, like that of Giovanna Randall for Honor, but we highly doubt that possibility.
