Versace Resort 2016 Collection

Girls, get ready! Versace has unveiled its resort collection for 2016! It is so colorful, so positively summer-ish in style that we cannot help but imagine ourselves at the pool in a club, rocking people’s socks off. There is something about the neon green that brings limes to mind, and that in turn has us thinking tropical, swim up bars and handsome strangers. While it may be made for the cruise and resort vacations that will be coming up towards the end of the year and into the beginning of the next, it is certainly a collection we can imagine for ourselves from now. Think sexy, pretty, lovely and totally out of this world designs are so very Versace and so very us, personally. Plastic pool sliders, neon green coats, hair in 1980s style volumized curls… what can there be not to love about it all?

One particular dress stands out quite nicely, looking more like a wraparound dress worn over a bright green negligee, what with matching handbag and shoes, scarf around the neck and the leather wraparound bracelet doing wonders in the matching department. We see some rather chunky sliders with sequins along the top, crop tops and mid waist heights on the pants, black and green and pink all thrown in together with contrasting hues and rather bright coloring. The negligee look continues in with some belted jackets thrown over top and dark sheer stockings encasing the legs. The morning after walk of shame look seems to be what Versace is aiming for and is very much succeeding in capturing our attention thus. The fashion house has a tendency to bring us increasingly interesting designs and themes that somehow take over for the whole year. We would be thrilled to see this idea turned into a nice SS or FW collection.

Versace lettering on the garments has been seen for a while, with the FW collection hinting at the Resort’s use of the colorful cutouts as well. Faux leather and cigarette coupes come back in nicely, while we can start looking stylish again in tracksuits. Those wonky orange sliders seem to be in again as well, while we can expect to keep seeing mules with stiletto heels, this time in neon colors and matching stockings, skirts, dresses and crop tops. A trend that seems to appear all over other than the neon on black is the use of black and the mesh. Slightly see-through or downright translucent is totally the Versace look for the winter vacation to a tropical place, with matching accessories to boot. Thigh high stockings under the interesting dual toned bright outfits only add to the lingerie meets streetwear ideal we see developing here. Psychedelic colors, matching everything from the handbags to the shoes to the jackets, tops and skirts, even matching necklaces, bracelets, rings and all, so please our senses!

So don’t forget. The Versace resort 2016 collection includes sheer stockings, thigh highs or full, negligees under the main garments, mules of all types and pool sliders with major platforms. The colors are in neon greens and oranges, a bit of pink and black, all of it in contrasts. It is, without a doubt, an awesome collection.
