Wal-Mart Gives Minimum-Wage Employees a Raise

Wal-Mart is no longer paying associates minimum wage and has instituted a new pay floor of $9 per hour.

By Feb. 1, 2016, that will be increased to $10 an hour, said a Wal-Mart release. The news will affect some 500,000 full- and part-time workers.

The current federal minimum wage stands at $7.25.
